Office X- all applications crash on startup

I've been all through the knowledge base, but still don't have an
answer. All my Office X applications crash at startup or within 10
seconds of startup. I created another user on my system (ver 10.3.9)
and when I log into this account everything works fine. I've updated
the Office software with the latest update, repaired permissions
(several times), run the Advanced Test in TechTool (passed all tests),
followed all suggestions in the MS document "How to troubleshoot for
font problems...", and reinstalled Office (with repair permissions, an
update, and repair permissions.
I still can get this to work and am at wits end. Any help is greatly
appreciated.
