I'm having an issue with Outlook Express in that when I try to open it, it
brings up the full page then closes the program again before I have the
chance to do anything. It doesn't come up with any error messages but I have
no other way of reading my emails!

Any suggestions?

Try moving the MSOE "Preferences" to the desktop and try again.

If you are using Classic in OS X, it's here;
Macintosh HD:Users:(your name):Documents:Microsoft User
Data:Identities:(your id):Preferences.

Put it back if it makes no difference (overwriting the newly created pref
file).

I wouldn't try compacting, until I/you find out the reason for the problem.
