Seems that it is so fast that your message is posted even before you
type anything.

You must have done something wrong. My Panther upgrade showed a slight
speed improvement in Word, and most other applications.

If anything, Panther should give you a slight speed improvement.

Try repairing permissions (using the Disk Utility application in your
Applications:Utilities folder).

Maybe he used white font on white background. :-)

The only thing I've found that slows Office (be it on OSX or 9) the that ^&*%
PDFMaker that adobe Acrobat installs. It it installed it takes Word 5 minutes to
load on OS9 and about 2.5-30 minutes on OSX.

One of the folks here suggested away to stop it in its tracks by substituting the
file for a folder with the exact same name. It doesn't work all that well no way on
OSX.

It only takes maybe three seconds on my system; but it's still annoying,
because it's useless.

Word X/Panther upgrade causes page shift - I upgraded to Panther recently. Prior to the upgrade, Word X worked perfect. Now when I go to print a document, everything is shifted over to the left about an inch, which causes the left margin to be huge and the right side of the text gets cut off. ....
