Archived from groups: alt>sys>mac>newuser-help (more info?)

I've uploaded some files into my Public folder on iDisk. I would like to
restrict its access by putting in a password. I followed the Apple
instructions, namely:

1. Open System Preferences and click .Mac.
2. Click iDisk.
3. Select the "Use a Password to Protect your Public Folder" checkbox.
4. Type the password in the Password and Confirm fields.
5. Click OK.

But to no avail. The folder remains totally accessible. Any idea what
I'm doing wrong?

Accessible to whom? If you accessed it yourself and were not prompted
for a password, that would merely indicate that your system remembers
the password (maybe in a keychain). If I, on the other hand, knew your
member name and got to it, then it would indeed not be working. Have
you had a third party attempt it, or accessed it from a system that's
unaware of your .Mac user name?
