I recently acquired Civilization III Complete. I know that Civ IV is
out now, but I doubt that my 1.5 GHz Powerbook could handle it. And I
wanted some of the AI improvements like the Automate Clear Wetlands
command.

I do have one problem with the game and wondered if anyone else has
experience with it. During combat there are no battle sounds as the
units hit each other, only the final death sound. With the older
edition of Civ III I sometimes lost battle sounds, but it was fixed by
restarting. But restarting/rebooting doesn't make a difference now.

Is this a bug, or did they just not include battle sounds in this
edition?

Sorry I don't know -- I haven't bought Civ III Complete yet; for
that matter, I've been away from home for a couple weeks and haven't had
time for much of anything in computer games -- but I'm sure if we keep
looking we'll find someone who knows.

Heck, maybe one of these days I'll even buy the game myself.
