For days, weeks I have been unsuccessful in using this software:
http://www.lifescan.com/products/otdms/
Originally tried it with Windows NT until I discovered that Windows NT does
not support USB.
So today I purchased and installed Windows XP Pro.
I am connecting a meter with a Belkin Serial Port adapter.
The Belkin shows up in my Virtual PC (v6) list of USB, I even installed the
Belkin driver on my Windows XP but it still will not be recognized. I have
the COM ports set up as per the Lifescan tech support (9600 baud etc.) but I
can not get the meter to be read by the software. Should I have the Virtual
PC settings set to Modem? Advanced settings? Text file?
If you know anyone using this software on Virtual PC, see if you can get
them to share the settings with me. Lifescan does not support Mac and will
not help other than to tell me the software is being used by some on Virtual
PC, but they will not tell me who.
The only benefit to using Windows XP is that now my printer works and I can
listen to college basketball games that would not work in system X. By the
way I tried installing Windows XP in system 9.2 but the computer kept trying
to initialize the CD. Is there a way to use Windows XP in Virtual PC
(installed and running on system X) in system 9.2? Perhaps I can only use
this meter in 9.2?
