I'm desperate to change to the new Mac and the new Office. i'm
somewhat of a power user of PowerPoint on the PC and i make very heavy
use of the MOTION PATHS way of moving info on a slide. I had a quick
look at the new Office in France yesterday and could find nothing
equivalent (then again I was trying to tranlate from the French).

Does any one know whether it's possible to move objects in any
direction in the new MacOffice PowerPoint?

Thank you in advance for your help.

PP 2004 will show builds using paths created on a PC but, unfortunately, you
cannot create motion paths on the Mac version. I suspect that the Mac BU
just couldn't fit that into the development schedule for Office 2004. You
should use the Feedback (PP > Help) to ask for this feature in a future
release. I was disappointed that it was not in this version, too.

Hi Paul,

FYI the visual basic behind all of the motion paths is in place in
PowerPoint 2004, and as Alan pointed out presentations that have motion
paths will play correctly.

There are default motion paths for many of the 140 or so new animations. So
if you can live without the customize feature, you will still be able to use
some of the path animation feature in PowerPoint 2004.

If you don't already have Mac PowerPoint there is a URL that you can use to
make a feature request. It's
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/feedback/suggestion.asp" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/mac/feedback/suggestion.asp</a>

I thought about writing a PowerPoint add-in that lets you control the motion
paths. But I bet by the time I finished it that Microsoft will have
completed the real GUI for path animations.

Clearly this is a feature that affects sales of PowerPoint, so please send
the feedback in. The more feedback they receive, the higher this gets placed
on the priority list.
