Post subject: Power problems on imac
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>misc (more info?)

I'm having some problems with my G3 233MHz iMac (the original iMac). The
only modification done was adding 128 megs of RAM (installed by an apple
technician). As far as I know the machine has never been dropped or
treated inappropriately.

Anyways, if the machine is ever tilted (even just an inch or two) or put
on its side it will not turn on. However, if I wait an hour or two it will
start up. I keep the monitor resolution at 800 x 600, but when the problem
happens it initially starts up in 1024 x 768, and a few seconds after the
Welcome to Macintosh startup screen comes up it reverts back to 800 x 600.
Also the date and time are reset, otherwise everything else seems to be
normal.

Anyone know what might be causing this to happen?
