I recently applied Apple's new updates to Leopard, 10.5.2 and the subsequent Graphics Update, and now it takes painfully long for Powerpoint to startup/open. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Office, looking for font problems, clearing caches, checking permissions - all to no avail.

Any suggestions??

I suspect that this is a bug or at least a "compatibility issue" with
MacOS X 10.5.2. I hope it will be fixed soon (by Apple or MS, I don;t
know who is to blame).

Slideshows are also glacially slow.....

I'm having the same problem since 10.5.2 install. Activity Monitor shows Powerpoint is not responding for about 8 or 10 seconds during startup. After that, application opens and all goes ok.

There is no problem with other office applications.

I apologize for my english.

José Luis.-
