Why not?

What happens when you try?

Once we know enough about the problem to answer, perhaps. ; )

I do not know why, but this is an office specific problem, does not occur with iWork or other programs. <br>
When I try to print from office, it prints empty pages; also the print preview is empty, as well as trials to make PDF. It does not report a mistake, its just empty. <br>
Thanks for your help! <br>

I am quite sure reducing the resolution would work as that is what helped most of the people in the Apple Discussion Forum. Problem is, the driver of my printer (Samsung CLP-300) doesn't allow me to change the printing resolution! And it's not that I overlooked it, there is just no option to do that.<br>
I am really curious, wheather the huge 10.5.2 update for Leopard will bring a solution.

There appears to be an issue with high-resolution printers on OS 10.5.

Microsoft and Apple are working on the problem.

In the meantime, the work-around is to use the Print dialog to set the
printing resolution to 600 dpi or less.

Try that, and please report back here if it works for you.

Hope this helps

I have a similar problem with Office 2004 after installing Leopard.<br>
If I print from the toolbar print button in Word or Excel, I get a zero byte file in the printer queue that blocks any firther documents from printing.<br>
However, if I use the File:Print menu, I can print just fine.<br>
Very strange indeed.<br>
Hoping the current update to Office 2004 will correct this.<br>

In your case, I think it might be worth removing the printer, rebooting, and
re-adding the printer to the Mac.

The Toolbar Button is simply a shortcut that sends a single copy to "The
default printer".

In this case, I suspect there is something wrong with the default printer
definition.

If it is not that, Remove or rename ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Word
Settings (11)

Hope this helps

For me OS X 10.5.2 fixed it!

Using Office 2004 (with latest updates and fixes) with a Samsung CLP-300N (Ethernet-printer, also with latest fix).

Thanks for your report. Yes, it was "supposed" to fix it.

However, it appears that the Graphics Update that came out about the same
time has broken it for some users.

I'm still waiting on a patch from Microsoft, who are also chasing this issue
:-)

Cheers

It appears to have broken it for me as well. I have 10.5.2 and still cannot print, preview or print to PDF from Office apps. However, I only have this problem from my MacBook Pro, not from my G5 iMac (running Leopard also). On the iMac, I can print, preview, print to PDF just fine.
