Putting Legend info on an Excel Chart

I am doing a scatter chart in Excel Office X, and I can name each
point on my scatter chart by making each point it's own series and
naming that series. But then, the name will only appear in a legend
box, instead of by each point on the chart. I'd like the information
in the legend box to appear next to each point on my chart, like a
Data label.

Conversely, if there is a way to get a Data label to look at a column
or row that is not being graphed, that too might work.

Any ideas?
