Hello,
I just purchased a Macbook and I still using my IBM Thinkpad R51 with
Windows XP.
Most of my working files are stored on the IBM Laptop and I like to
leave them there. How can I connect the two Laptop's together? Do I
need a cable like USB?

I'm sitting in the middle of the pampa in Costa Rica and have nobody to
ask about RDC.

Your answer is highly appreciated, <donbernie>

You need a network. This can be as simple as a crossover-wired ethernet
cable between the two machines, or, two ethernet cables and a small switch
or hub.

You have to create a network.
Physical connection Cross over Cable, or 2 normal cables connecting to
a router/switch/hub.
Then you must configure both computers ethernet connections on same
network settings
Similar IP
Same subnet mask
Related Gateway
Example:
Computer 1 Computer 2
IP 10.10.10.10 10.10.10.11
Mask 255.0.0.0 255.0.0.0
Gate 10.10.10.11 10.10.10.10
You have to share the folders you want to fiew from the other computer.
File and Printer sharing must be enabled on Windows and excluded from
the firewall XPsp2
Windows File Sharing must be turned on on the Mac.

Finder/Network should bring up a workgroup/network and you should see
icons for both computers
