The following incident happen to me today. It is both funny and sad.

The basic story is that my Virtual PC drive images got corrupted
somehow. A pain but no disaster, yet. I just need to recreate a new
drive image. I am using VPC 6.1 WIndow ME Home ed. Unfortunately the
upgrade disk is non-functional - approaching disaster. After going
several rounds with MS via e-mail, I finally get a phone number to
call for a replacement CD. (Just in case you want to know or confirm
what I said: 800-360-7561)

So I called up and asked about getting a replacement CD from work. I
don't have the original package and may be the receipt on on a credit
card bill somewhere. I am told that I need this info to get a
replacement disk. I asked that since I was a registered user and have
the serial and ID number could she not just look it up on her
computer. Now the ironic part.

She stated that there were too many uses for MicroSoft to keep track
of them by computer!

Well, of course not! They're using Windows, after all. ;-)
