One of the great things available to those of us that have convenient access
to an Apple store is the Genius Bar, something I frequently avail myself of,
and which until now has been able to provide an answer to a presented
problem. But today that changed.

The problem I presented was how I could use my Sony 1080 capable videocamera
as an alternative video input for iChat. When I took the camera and my
computer to the Genius Bar I was told that until Sony provided the
appropriate driver that what I wanted to do was not possible.

When I came home I yet again connected the camera, but it suddenly occurred
to me to try to set the camera so the resolution was for "normal" video and
not "high resolution" video. And, guess what, everything worked!

Hey, its fun to outdo the genius! :-)

You posted this to comp.sys.mac.databases - but what's this got to do
with databases?

When I post via Hogwasher the selection of which newsgroups in a subscription
to post to is subtractive. I have around ten newsgroups in my "Macintosh"
subscription and there are times when I miss one of those I should exclude.

Jolly, why is it that it took you almost four months from the time of my
posting to query as to why I posted to a most likely inappropriate newsgroup?
:-)

LOL. I wondered why this was resurrected :-) As for stumping Apple
support - I do that all the time. But I live in NZ and we've no Apple
Store Geniuses here. I gather they're better trained? On par with
AppleCare senior tech support staff?
