Tried it and nothing happened.
But here's the kicker (?)
I played around, again, for the umpteenth time, with the display
resolution in 'Preferences' and... *boom*. It worked.
Why it didn't earlier today, I know not.
But all was not lost (except, perhaps, for a bit of my sanity). I ended
up backing up everything so that's done :-)
