I am getting duplicate events when I sync Entourage on my two computers
using .Mac. Every time I sync I get more duplicates.

Any Ideas, wamaral

Hi wamaral!

Be sure to post your question in the
microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage newsgroup as well.

I suggest you export you do the following:

1. Stop Entourage sync services.

2. Export your contacts list to a tab or comma delimited file and clean
up all your duplicates in Excel.

3. Delete all your current contacts and then import your cleaned list.

4. Re-enable Entourage sync services.

You can also find scripts on The Entourage Help Page to help you remove
duplicates <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/troubleshoot/syncservices.html>.

I then suggest you update your contacts only in one place. Choose either
Entourage or Address Book but don't update contacts in both. Between
these two applications, phones, PDAs, etc., the schema (the list of
items within each contact) is not 100% the same. For example, while both
Entourage and Address Book can store pictures, the two don't store them
the same way. That's why pictures don't sync. Rather than potentially
deleting or overwriting important data when a conflict occurs you'll end
up with duplicates. The differences between the duplicates may not be
apparent but _something_ is different.

Hope this helps! bill
