PAN-PAN-PAN...
Using x-plane 6.06 for mac on OS 9.
I LOVE flying the Bell 609 tilt-rotor in this sim. But mine never came with a
"skin" for the plane, I just get generic mottled grey all over.
So I went to x-plane.org last night and downloaded a "skin" for it, and it
appears to be a valid bitmap in the correct format. So I open up planemaker,
and I find the interface for applying this texture map to the model is not very
intuitive. I could use some hints and step-by-step procedures for applying
this map to the plane and getting it to "stick" when I open the sim up to fly.
I tried importing the bitmap into the file for the 609, tried randomly pushing
buttons and drop-down menus, and one time, it finally seemed to work and wrap
itself around the model in the planemaker interface. I hit save. I open up
x-plane and "choose aircaft". No $%@#^$%@ texture!?!?!
Going slowly insane trying to do what must be a very simple thing. >> Stay informed about: Xpplain something about x-plane texture maps, please... |

The texture just needs to be In the same folder as the aircraft.
XPlane automaticaly applies it. It also must be named correctly.
For example if the aircraft is named BA6093.acf, then the texture is
named BA6093_paint.bmp. Hope this helps.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Xpplain something about x-plane texture maps, please... |

tried that, like I said, it has appeared in the planemaker window to have been
corrctly applied, but when i go back to the main sim interface and call up the
plane, it still comes in without the texture map.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: Xpplain something about x-plane texture maps, please... |
