Ever since AT&T Yahoo! changed its email settings, I've been able to receive
my Yahoo! mail only sporadically. I also get continual "bot" messages from
AT&T warning me that I'm not using their new settings. I open my Accounts
settings and find that the settings are right, with the exception that the
port override button is now unchecked (which, by the way, is what the
Entourage Help Page says is correct). If I have to, I'll get rid of my
Yahoo! email account, but I'd rather not. Anyone else having this problem?
Any ideas? Thank you.

I have never been able to send/receive email through the Yahoo! portal using Entourage. The error message says "Security Failure - Personal Certificate Required. Error 2995." AT&T tells me they just lately began "supporting" Entourage, but they are unable to assist me. I also have checked my Accounts settings and find they are right. I have the exact same issue with the port override button--AT&T says it should be checked, but it won't "stay" checked. Can anyone help?

I had some startup issues when they changed over but it has been working
perfect for some time. I have and use ATT/Yahoo but had to train Yahoo
using their web mail client to accept my other email address. If you
use something other than one of the standard AAT domains, you need to
get the web mail working first. Then you should be able to get
Entourage to POP and Send mail

You must use pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com for the POP
and SMTP servers

For POP you have to check only the top check box and I have 995 typed
in the box

For SMTP check all three boxes and type in port 465

I think there is a very good FAQ this topic put together by Diane. I
suggest you start with the FAQ

If you have an AT&T Yahoo email acct configured in Entourage email software,
to resolve the 2995 error type. All you need to do is to leave "SMTP requires
sercure connection (SSL)" and "Override default SMTP port: 25" unchecked.
Make sure "SMTP server requires authentication with use same settings as
receiving mail server" is checked

My sympathies. :-)

Try to find the source of the problem:

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
base OS files.

Hi Ducatista,

I'm having the same problems that Hydrogenda is experiencing. I changed the
settings per your suggestions and retrieved my email from the server but that
generated a scary email message from Yahoo threatening to close my account if
I don't change the settings back to SSL. Doesn't this leave my account
vulnerable? How would you suggest I (we) proceed from here.
