Hi,
I want to buy a Mac for home - Kids Computer.
1. In their school they use Windows based machines, using alot of
Power-Point, Excel, Word...
If I buy a Mac, will my kids be able to still be compatible with MS office
application for their school projects?
2. I heard (maybe incorrectly) that if you buy a Intel based Mac, you
could boot in Windows or Mac... is this true? Little more detail would be
appreciated.... I searched Apple.com but could not find the answer...
Thanks,

There are two major ways to run Windows on an Intel based Mac, Boot Camp from
Apple and Parallels Desktop from Parallels. Boot Camp allows the computer to
one at a time run Mac OS X or Windows, a reboot being required to switch.
Parallels Desktop runs Windows as an application within Mac OS X.

Office for OSX is almost completely compatible with office for WinXP.
The only problems I've experienced come down to font availability
between platforms. As long as you stick with the core MS fonts, you
should be OK.

Yes. You can either buy Office for the Mac, or get OpenOffice or
NeoOffice which open Office files. If they need Access though, you
might have problems.
