Post subject: no connection between iBook and wireless-adapted Netgear Rou
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>system (more info?)

I have a 500 mhz dual-usb iBook with an Airport card installed.

My home network is based on a netgear FR114W with the optional Netgear
MA401 wireless card installed. When I first got the card and installed
it, the ibook connected easily. For maybe 10 minutes. Then I had to go
back in to the router admin pages and change it form "this is the
trusted PC" to "accept all PCs" which I didn't like a bit. I changed
many things, and I'd connect for a few minutes, then the wireless part
of the network would go down (the hard-wired conputers still had
connection).

Now I get no connection at all and the iBook doesn't even detect the
signal, does it sound like it's the Netgear card 9the router picks up at
least three other networks in my condo complex so I think it's safe to
believe it is indded a problem with the MA401 card and not the iBook).

I'm at my wit's end. Anybody have a suggestion? I'm not in a financial
position to go out and change the network hardware.
