Hi. I have two friends who are most certainly NOT software developers, but
they are collaborative writers who have a need to keep track of various
versions of documents (mostly MS Word and a few other types). To help them,
I figured I would get them a hosted CVS or Subversion service (such as
cvsDude), turn on file locking (since the Word files are binary, preventing
merging), and try to find the most easy-to-use GUI client I could.
Does anyone have any suggestions for Mac OS X CVS or Subversion clients
which are (relatively) easy to use? Or have other ideas as to how to best
approach this problem?
Thanks much,
Ivan. >> Stay informed about: cvs/subversion client help needed |

svnX is a perfect svn client for this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out.
If anyone else knows of a CVS or SVN client or front-end they like for Mac
OS X, please let me know as well!
Best,
Ivan.

Reread your post today and I am not sure whether svn will meet your
expectations with Word docs.
A diff of two .doc versions will look ugly even in the otherwise
excellent filemerge viewer. Unless you don't want to track changes and
only manage versions.
Maybe someone else has another option for document versioning.

Johan
