1) Ihave an iMac G5 --Tiger etc. How do I change the login screen. I
can find out how to mess with my own desktop but not how to mess with
the login screen

2) I have blank CD-RW. They can be burned more than once, but I can't
figure out how to get the Mac reburn the CD

Are you using any particular disc buring software, or just the built
in Finder? I have never used CDR/W since I have several hundred blank
CD's, but have you just tried to "erase" the CDR/W?

If I can find one, I'll try it out.

Disk Utility (or whatever, since I use an Italian version) - check
Spotlight if you don't know where it is

select the CD-RW on the left - don't select your main HD!

press the Initialize button

follow instructions

After a while, the disk is blank and ready for rewriting. I did it many
times, so I know it works.

Entity Mike Rosenberg uttered this profundity:

That IS strange. Must be Apple's new strategy of embarrassing Usenet users.

1) Don't know.

2) There is an "Erase Disc" option in the Disc Utility. Yoy have to
erase it first before you reburn. There is a "Quick Erase" option that
only takes about a minute.

Try this:

Open System Preferences
In the System panel, select Accounts
Click lock at bottom to make changes
Type in Admin. password
Select Account to change
Select Login Options
Configure it as you wish
Click lock at bottom to prevent unauthorized changes
Close System Preferences

Good luck.
