greetings!

I admit it I am unorganized..however

I need a way to delete the sometimes 10s of duplicate files I have on
several vey large drives. I need a
program that will automatically save the most recent copy and delete
all the others. I have tried
doublet scan and retrospect but neither will allow the process to be
automated (to the best of my knowledge).
Both these programs require that I highlight then delete.
Thank you

Carl

Spring Cleaning dosent work for the same reason; it will not
automatically delet from the
list it builds.

These are files that are backedup to other drives by just clicking and
dragging to the disk. However within each backup there may be unique
files I wish to keep, so deleting the entire drive and then rebacking
with the current file set does not work.

Just how duplicate are these duplicate files? You say you want to keep
the most recent, but if there are differences, how is an automated
process going to determine that they're the same?

Okay, but the question stands. If they're not actually the same, how
does an automated process know they're "the same?" Abstractly what you
want could probably be written in fairly short order by several people
reading this group, but I'm a little hazy on how sameness is actually
defined for these files.
