Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>storage (more info?)

i have just upgraded my g4 450 b+w machine with:

[1] siig ultra ata 133/100 controller card
[2] maxtor 120gb utlra series hard drive

i also have the original utlrawide scsi card + drive installed.

everytime i try to copy files from my scsi drive to the ata drive, i
always get a "the item [filename] cannot be wriiten, because a disk
error occured.".

sometimes if i copy the file (that failed) on its own i can get it to
work w/o errors but its really inconsistent.

has any body seen this problem before??

any help is greatly appreciated!!!

cheers,
scott
