BBEdit Lite -> BBEdit indicated that there was a more powerful version.
TextWrangler -> BBedit doesn't. But folks, there's a more powerful
version of TextWrangler. It's BBEdit. It even works from the command
line in terminal. 'bbedit /etc/hosts' works as you would expect from a
text editor using the command line (vim, emacs, etc.); but you do your
editing from GUI BBEdit with all the associated benefits.
Oh, and I work for nobody. I only promote products that I think are
excellent. MTNW, BBEdit, GraphicConverter and Fetch fit the bill.

Some of the servers I encounter (maybe 2 in 5?) don't have good support
for anything other than ftp. Maybe it is something peculiar to small
Australian ISPs hosting on old SUN boxes? Plus I sometimes do the
updates from machines other than my own.

Using the built in ftp tends to guarantee that I don't need to find
tools. However you are right that I should do something about only
bothering with newer files. I guess adding find -newer should take care
of that. Real Soon Now.

I doubt I have anywhere near LP's expertise in using these apps; but I
do have and occasionally use all of them, and agree totally with his
assessment.

Well, it _is_ a Bed and Breakfast, is it not?
