Some of the servers I encounter (maybe 2 in 5?) don't have good support
for anything other than
ftp. Maybe it is something peculiar to small
Australian ISPs hosting on old SUN boxes? Plus I sometimes do the
updates from machines other than my own.
Using the built in ftp tends to guarantee that I don't need to find
tools. However you are right that I should do something about only
bothering with newer files. I guess adding find -newer should take care
of that. Real Soon Now.
