I'm having problems with my Outlook Express 6
inbox email. I have pressed receive mail and its showing
Receiving 1 of 5, but nothing's getting through. What can
I do?

pekay,

Perhaps try an OE6 newsgroup, rather than a Mac one?

Few PC users and, I suspect, even fewer self-styled and snotty Mac "experts"
know that the .dbx folders which Outlook Express uses to hold your individual
e-mails do not have unlimited capacity - Inboxes for OE (inbox.dbx) max out
at around 2 gb. If you are one of those people who, like me, quickly reviews
their new e-mail but often fails to delete the leftovers, you will eventually
reach the 2 gb level. Likewise, if you try to use your Main Identity e-mail
folders to consolidate e-mails from previous other e-mail "Store" folders by
importing all of them into your Main Identity you will hit your head on the
2gb 'ceiling'.

What method did Microsoft build into Outlook Express to notify users when
their Inboxes have reached this 2gb milestone? None, naturally. All that
will happen is that you will eventually realize, as you did, that Outlook
Express is downloading your new e-mails but not saving them, either to your
Inbox or to some sort of "overfill" folder. Outlook Express originated in the
days of 40MB hard drives. You might think that by now, in this era of huge
storage capacity, Microsoft would have kept Outlook Express up with the
times.

Yet another inexplicable example of how MS consistently treats its retail
users like garbage.
