I'm having trouble with entourage recognizing public
folders/calendars/global addresses and I'm using entourage v.X on a
microsoft exchange 5.5 network. Any ideas? Entourage "sees" all the public
folders, but it doesn't see them as calendar events. It sees them as a bunch
of messages. What gives?

Please help.

Corentin, thanks for your suggestions. I am working on that.

Noel

We were told by our tech support people that
Entourage will only work with Exchange 2000, but I'm
not sure if that's true (see my post from Oct 29). I'm still
researching this and will let you know what we find out
here... I'd be curious about any findings you may find
as well.

Our tech support people said Entourage won't work
with exchange 200. I'm not sure if that's true (see my
post fom Oct 29). I'll let you know if I find out any more
about this and would appreciate if you'd post any
findings on the subject as well...

Thanks,

WK

Entourge will work with Exchange 5.5 servers in a limited way.

It can send and receive mail so long as the POP/SMTP or IMAP protocols are
enabled on the server and can even display calendar items but not in a
calendar view. This requires WebDAV support found in Exchange 2000 and
higher.

Someone else can probably comment about the GAL (Global Address List) and
whether or not Exchange 2000 is required for viewing addresses.

This link also may be of some help to you

Hope this helps! bill

If you have an account on Exchange Server 2000 or later, you need to have
Entourage X 10.1.4 or later to access the GAL. Your account must be set up
as an Exchange account.

If you have an account on an earlier version of Exchange Server (like 5.5),
you can access the GAL with any version of Entourage. You must set up a
standard Directory Service (not Exchange) account to access the GAL.

Either way LDAP must be enabled on the Exchange Server.
