Seems like I need a new inkjet, and the other day I went to an
inaugurarion of a mac store where they demonstrated Canon's new PIXMA
4000 printer. Looks very promising.
And ink cartridges seem fairly cheap, too.

Does anyone have experience with these newbies ?
Ink consumption, print quality, reliability ?

I recommend Macs to my friends, and Intel machines
to those whom I don't mind billing by the hour

I bought an iP6000D as a gift. It looks like and excellent printer and
I've seen great prints from it. The built-in LCD sucks but I didn't buy
it for that feature. Ink refills are priced reasonably, paper type
tolerance is good, it uses a true ink level sensor, and the print head
is replaceable.

I've given up on Epson printers. They've very been unreliable for me
and they're crammed full of intentional operational costs.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I have tried every brand of printers . They all had problems with the ink
drying out until i purchased CANNON Pixma 4000
It is the best printer i have owned so far and the ink is the least
expensive of any. I highly recommend it. Consumer Reports also shows it as
a best buy.
