Nope, didn't work.

It started ejecting and retracting the CD.

I swear it was sticking it's tongue out at me...

When booting the TiBook, try holding down the option key- it should
bring up a boot chooser where you can select the system folder the
machine will boot from. I think it can find a system folder from
a firewire drive.

Do you have another firewire capable Mac? If so, you can boot the
TiBook into firewire target disk mode, and then you can run the OS
9 installer from the other Mac after mounting the TiBook.

Actually, if you have another OS 9 only Mac, you may be able just to
copy over the system folder. OS 7-9 systems could take a lot of
abuse like that.

Actually CMBB will run with 16MB as well.

It may be worth looking at the Tech Support forum for CMBB at
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.battlefront.com/" target="_blank">http://www.battlefront.com/</a> and searching for this issue. It was
discussed there at various times.

Yes. It is <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.info.apple.com/support/applespec.html" target="_blank">http://www.info.apple.com/support/applespec.html</a>
and for the model in question

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n75431" target="_blank">http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n75431</a>

which in turn identifies the card as an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 with
either 32 or 64MB of DDR SDRAM video memory.
