I'm a huge fan of adventure games.
I love the Monkey Island series and most of the LucasArts games.

Is there any good adventure games for mac out there?
New ones? Old ones?
I'd like to hear.

I recommend the Avernum and Geneforge series. They have playable demos that
are pretty big, and low system requirements.

Here are a couple places you can look for adventure game demos or
shareware:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://download.com.com/3150-2276-0.html?tag=dir" target="_blank">http://download.com.com/3150-2276-0.html?tag=dir</a>
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.macgamefiles.com/index.php?cat=1&sub=101" target="_blank">http://www.macgamefiles.com/index.php?cat=1&sub=101</a>
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.macgamefiles.com/index.php?cat=2&sub=101" target="_blank">http://www.macgamefiles.com/index.php?cat=2&sub=101</a>

If you are interested in playing the original adventure game (Colossal
Cave) someone just ported it to OS X. You can find it at one of the
links above, re-titled Adventure.

Also, uDevGame 2003 contest just started, so you may want to keep an eye
out there in the coming weeks for adventure games.
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.idevgames.com/content/contest.php?id=10&show_entries=1" target="_blank">http://www.idevgames.com/content/contest.php?id=10&show_entries=1</a>

Good luck,

I didn't know about macgamefiles.com.. Great great.

I don't know what else to say than thanks.

Try: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/" target="_blank">http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/</a>

This is an emulator that allows you to play old LucasArt's adventure
games (and a few others) in OS X, provided you have the original PC or
Mac copies of the games. So this also means you can play a few older
adventure games that were never released for the Mac.

One company, Revolution, is offering a free download of their classic
adventure game "Beneath a Steel Sky" which works perfectly with this
emulator. Beneath a Steel Sky was originally never released for the Mac
but you can play it now with this emulator and for free. =)

Check the link above for details.

Are you serious?
Can you play old adventure games for PC on SCUMMVM???

Beneath A Steels Sky I've played a little. That seemed great!
Thanks! Where do you download it?

Andreas

Looks like it's at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.scummvm.org," target="_blank">http://www.scummvm.org,</a> but it doesn't work currently. I went
to Google and clicked on the cached page, and it looks like what you'd want.
Their newest version was released August 8, so it seems they are still in
business ;)
