It looks like I'll be spending about a week in the UK at the end of this
month.
I'm planning to visit the IPMS Scale Modelworld (22 nov), Duxford, and
probably a few other places (Jaguar's museum in Coventry? the Heritage
Motor Centre?). Probably spend a day in London, too.
Be very afraid....

You should also hit the armor museum at Bovington. I understand it's the
best in the world.

Harro,
I'm helping run Scale Modelworld. When you are there, ring me on +44
7785 534550. I'll be around all weekend.
Nige.

Well, I'm just up the road from Duxford. You know what to do.
Maybe we can persuade Nige to come down . . .

Better keep him away from the magazines. Especially the ones showing ladies
in frilly undies.

I'll do that. I'm taking the boat on Saturday (Seacat, Calais-Dover), so
I'll be at the Modelworld on Sunday.

It's a fantastic museum, but it's a fair distance from London area where
Harro is heading... well worth a trip though.

I'll check the distance (the route planner Web site I use isn't
responding at the moment), but I wouldn't mind a detour of a few hundred
km. Some nice countryside and a full CD-changer make for a pleasant
holiday.

Never mind, found it now. Telford-Bovington-Duxford would be about 700
km, which would be a bit too much in the time I have. Oh well, there's
always next time (i'll certainly keep it in mind). Thanks anyway for the
suggestion...
I may visit Bletchley Park instead.

See if you can nail an Enigma machine. It would make a nice conversation
piece on your coffee table.

km? What's this 'km'? We don't have those over here.
Anyway, the offer of a feed is valid - we're a few miles north of Duxford.

Nice. That would give even longer no-repeat/no-changing-CD's playing
time than my setup (12-CD changer plus a headunit that can play MP3-CDs,
which has proven sufficient to last a 1000 km journey...).
