I have a wi-fi network here at home, and it works fine. My iBook G4
with the Airport Extreme card works well too, but only if I stay close
(I mean, *very* close). Right now, I have my iBook beside the Linksys
BEFW11S4 wireless router and the signal strength is only half full. My
brother's pc notebook with a usb wi-fi adapter gets excellent signal
wherever he stays in our apartment!

Any suggestions? Thanks anyway...

Either your builtin antenne or Airport card is defect or (most likely)
the antenna cable is not fully inserted and correctly into the card.
