iBook: green power button ring glows no more

I bought my 600MHz white iBook about 8-10 months ago. Lovely little
thing, it's run almost continuously since then (for one thing, I leave
it on overnight so my WLAN backups execute).

Recently I realized that the LED ring around the power (on) button
glows no more. Just like the green ring around my power adapter no
longer glows yellow when charging. (It glows green continuously.)

What is it about Apple and their LEDs? 8 months seems a short lifespan
for an LED, though few iBooks put in as many hours as mine. Should I
be worried more is amiss? Seems tacky.

The author of the post below was confused and is probably mildly
demented. For the record, the iBook on switch only LOOKS like it
should have a glowing green ring around the on/power button.

It doesn't have one and never did. The poor sod simply remembered
incorrectly, probably due to frustration with SMB-induced SPODs in
10.2.6.

PS. Too bad I can't delete my own posts, but in case anyone finds it
