Please, if anyone can be of assistance.

I have two iMacs on my desk. The first (A) is my original,
the second (B) I want to be my next one , for several
reasons. I am moving from Arizona to Holland in two weeks
and I need that puter to be up and running from day 1.

I tried to get all the contents of the HD of A over to B,
with a cat5 cross cable through ethernet. Went smooth.

Then I tried to get the system of B upgraded from 9.0 to
9.2.2. That takes a few steps. First to 9.1, then to 9.2.1
and then to 9.2.2. After that I would have two iMacs with
the same contents. And then I wanted to install OS X.

But after upgrading to 9.1 (which went fine) the whole B
freezes after the restart. Whatever I try, PRAMMING, boot
from disk (I know, with the "C") restarting without
extensions, nothing pops up, it freezes with just the
desktop background on screen.

Anyone who has an idea of solving this will be in my heart
for ever. It is really important to me.

What is the model of the new iMac? Is it new? Why is OS9 installed?

It is possible to install OSX, then go back and install OS9.0, and boot
into 9 and upgrade that way, if all else fails.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I tried that and it seemed to accept the OS X disk, but then
it went into a 8 hours loop "Reading Packages":(((

The model.........it is iMac, transparent, 20Gb HD, 450 Mhz,
I would say about 3 years old.

Get iMac A the way you want it, and then use CC Cloner to move the
contents to B.
