Just transferred my wife's iPhoto Library to a new computer. Replaced
the existing Library with hers. Can't see all her photos.

I'm a beginner using iPhoto. Are there any steps to take to make iPhoto
present all photos?

iPhoto seems to work fine and I think all other film rolls show up OK.

But....

There is at least one roll where only one of many photos shows in the
Library view screen.

I look inside the Library and the photos in question are in 3 different
folders with the one that is viewable in a folder by itself plus the
Data folders, etc.. And that one picture is there twice once with a .JPG
extension and once with a .JPC extension. And that roll is out of order,
it is listed as the earliest date wise which it is but it is assigned a
roll number #11.

So trying to correct the problem but having no luck. Repaired
permissions and trashed preferences but no better.

Also, is there any test to run to see if all photos are being seen
properly. I've found this one error but that leads me to believe there
may be more.

Running OS X 10.3.5 and iPhoto 4.

Thank you.

Try transferring the photos again. Seems you did everything right if you
copied the folder "iPhoto" with everything in in tact. You might have
just gotten a bad copy or transfer. If you can and have a DVD burner use
it to transfer the whole folder.

Good luck.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

OP Back.....and frustrated. :-( I won't admit how long I've spent on
this project. But this old rookie is about to quit. Probably would have
if it were my photos but it is my wife's computer and photos.

At any rate, I've tried two other backups for her iPhoto Library and
still the same problem. So the corruption may have happened on the old
computer and for some reason she did not realize it. But there are about
150 photos that are in the iPhoto LIbrary that aren't showing up in
iPhoto.

Are there any other workarounds to get this back to square one? I gather
there is a shareware program but I believe I read that one loses all
dates for the photos or all the roll organization or both if you use
that approach.

Thanks for any help.

PS Is iPhoto a good app for us relative infrequent users? Having the
photos there and not being able to look at them in iPhoto is
frustrating. Thanks again.
