old laserwriter select 300 HELP !

I am the lucky owner of two Macs, an Imac 600Mhz (system10.2) and an
old 8100PPC (system 8.6)
I was recently given an old LW select 300
I had minor problems putting the printer shared through the Ethernet
network between the the 2 computers
But i have a BIG problem of paper jamming, the printer cannot print
more than two pages in a row
I think that it could be related to the amount of toner on the page,
maybe the speed of the paper inside the drums and rollers depends of
the amount of toner used ?

But it could be anything else, including a software problem

I would gratefully accept any advice
