Post subject: No letters - Age of Mythology

I have been playing Age of Mythology a lot. Yesterday, when I started it
up, the initial menu buttons were no longer labeled with letters, just
rectangles in their places. I deleted the preferences and also
re-installed the game. No luck. Any suggestions? Thank you.

BTW I have a dual 1 GHz G4 PowerMac running 10.4.7.
