printing to local USB printer from classic mode under OS X..

hi,

i like my new g4 with OS X pretty well, but today i tried printing
from Apple Works 5 (simply copied over to the g4 from an older iMac
where it ran under OS 8.6). i suppose it figures that i would have to
re-establish contact with the local USB printer (now hooked up to the
G4 instead of the iMac), but i couldn't figure out how to do it. tried
a bunch of tacks including reading help, searching apple tech support,
news groups, the web.

found one reference to a desktop printer utility (in a section on
printing under classic mode in a promising PDF doc about printing
under OS X, but I couldn't find this utility. i have the idea maybe it
ships with an apple printer? my printer is an HP DeskJet882c which
works beautifully under OS X, but I might want to print something from
a classic app.

seems like this shouldn't be so hard.

i'd be grateful for any clues or pointers.

Did you remember to go to the Chooser under Classic, and choose your
printer? If your printer isn't there, you probably need to install the
OS 9 drivers for your Deskjet.
