Specs. pasted in below.

I'm not sure about this. The noise level from my iMac is just above
what I guess is OK? But how can I know. Normally I'm sitting quite and
working and the loud humming can't pass my attention.

Some numbers (Normal working conditions. Idle mode)

CPU fan: 799 rpm
Hard drive fan: 1399
Optical drive fan: 799

Some have said that this iMac should be very quiet but I guess thats a
matter of definition. Does some of you have a similar Mac? How much
does it say?

What does System Profiler say about the hard drive?

Does the hum subside if you press your hands on your desk next to the
foot of the iMac?

Then you need something heavy to eat up the vibrations, like a slab of
granite or marble beneath the iMac.

No. I tried lifting off the Mac so see that excact thing.

Talked to Apple today. Asked me to reset SMC and PRAM. (I did try this
before but they insisted on trying).

This doesn't help. I wouldn't expect it to eighter because of the
relative low value of the fan speeds.

I just wish I could test anoher iMac. Maybe it's just me being to demanding?

Those numbers don't sound too bad, so I don't think there's anything
wrong with your iMac per se; more a matter of personal comfort. Be
thankful you don't have to contend with a high end PC box, normal fan
speed would be closer to 2000 rpm (read: very, very loud).
