1. Anyone have recommendations on a cheap (under or around $100) vga to
composite video converter?
there are alot out there, like the avermedia ones and planar ones.
2. do they work as well as hooking my sony digital camera up to the tv
directly?

Have mpegs recorded on sony cybershot digital camera.
tried recording on vcd but reencoding to correct mpeg type i lose too much
quality -- most are shot in low light.

they look great when i connect my camera directly to the tv to preview, but
i want to store the videos on my computer and put them in order and edit
them and then dump them to vhs.

thanks.
