I use an Epson C84, and it's a darned fine basic printer.
I use it with 2 iMacs, each on OS9, a G4 Mac on OS 10, and a WinXP box.
The drivers for all of them work very well, no problems. The iMacs use
Epson's AppleTalk drivers (I use the ones that create desktop printers).
I went ahead and networked this C84 using Epson's very fine and capable
pocket print server. It's very, very nice having access to this printer
from all platforms simultaneously.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
