Post subject: printing problems with leopard

I have been having problems printing from iphoto basically the prints
come out with banding and look awful.

just printed from bootcamp xp and it works fine so the printer is ok
i have downloaded gutenprint drivers v5.02 which has not solved the
problem, the problem seems to have occurred by me downloading and
installing epson drivers from the epson website.
how do i get back to the leopard installed original drivers ?

I have a question mark icon in my dock with epson usb2.0 mfp(hi-
speed) ??

this is driving me mad, forgive the pun please. Any help gratefully
received.

I have used the epson utilities to check alignment, cleaned heads etc
but no joy.

it used to work fine :(

Forgot to add the printer is an epson stylus photo r300 with new carts
fitted.

Is iPhoto set to print to the appropriate type of paper? Having the
wrong paper selected can give horrible results.

Tried lots of paper options but no joy ! Any idea if an ICC profile
would assist ?? Going to try and hunt some down in a minute.

There are so many options and variables, i want to try and find a
decent workflow and settings to give decent results.
