Hi there:

We have been using RDC with about five users for awhile now as part of
a telecommuting pilot program at work. Just last week it stopped
working. We can get in past the Firewall to the server, but then when
we fire up the RDC, it says we can't log on and need to try later
(which doen't work).

Any solutions? Any ideas as to the problem? Does this have anything to
do with automatic updates canceling out something?

I reinstalled the latest version of RDC and that didn't fix it. Our
work is predominantly PC, but there are a few of us Mac hold-outs at
home...

Thanks for the support!
Margo

Have you checked the EventLog on the server?

Hi Vera:

Thanks for responding. I guess I worded my post incorrectly. My LAN
person said "What server?!" Okay, so we are trying to connect to our
system at work, passing through the firewall and connecting to our
individual PCs. We can get through the firewall--it says we are
connected--and then when we load RDC it says it cannot conect and we
need to try later. We are all still using Tiger, but as I mentioned
before, we were connecting last week without problems.

We have one person with a new MacBook, also running Tiger, that hasn't
been able to get it working... Apple isn't much help because they
don't support third-party software.

Does any of this help you figure out the problem?

We all appreciate your help!
Margo

Have you checked that these PCs are still configured to accept
incoming rdc connections? Check under Control Panel - System -
Remote.
While in the office, can you connect from one PC to another? And
from a Mac to a PC?

Hi Vera:

The PCs have not had their settings changed--they are configured to
accept incoming RDC connections. While in the office, you can log into
PCs via other PCs, but not from Macs.

I also tried using Firefox instead of Safari to see if it could be a
versioning problem with Safari, but that didn't work either.

My system went from 10.3.9 to 10.4.10 and that's when the RDC began to
fail.

Thank you,
Margo

Where does a web browser come into the picture?
Are you running IIS and tsweb on these PC's?
Can you connect with the full RDC client?
