quick Mail.app question

I've always used Eudora, but am now debating whether to switch to
Mail.app.

One thing which I like about Eudora, which I can't seem to do with Mail:
I like being able to edit the mail I receive. In other words, if someone
sends me a 200-line anecdote about buying milk at the grocery store and
then adds a thrilling URL at the end, I like being able to cut out the
anecdote and just save a one-line email containing the URL.

Can you edit mail with Mail.app in this way?

An easy work around would be to *Forward* the message to yourself and
you can edit it when in forward mode. Then throw away the origional and
keep the forwarded mail.
