I played a game on the mac many years ago now which I thought was called
Pharoah or something similar. In it you played a pharoah and the ultimate
goal was to build your own pyramid - you had 50 years or something to
complete the task using slaves. You were also required to farm land to
provide food for the slaves and able to market trade slaves, horses, ox,
wheat, manure, etc as well as enter into contracts to buy/sell these
commodities. Along the way various "people" would appear throughout the
game offering advice - according to the game help some were to be believed
while others were lying - they would offer advice about how much manure to
use per acre, how long a pyramid takes to build, etc.

I hope someone remembers it as I'd love to track it down and play it again.

Thanks for any suggestions
LT.

You might poke around to see if you can find it here:

I couldn't find it, but then I'm not really sure what I'm looking for,
plus I made only a cursory search.

The game is c.1988-1990 from memory if that helps.
