How to rip Blu-ray movies to hard drive on Mac?

As its perfect high definition video quality, Blu-ray disc has got great appreciation from almost every movie lover. At the same time, people’s requirements of ripping and copying these Blu-rays to the hard drive of their computers so as to do other use have also emerged. Do you have tremendous Blu-ray collections? Are you still searching for an easy-to-use and versatile program to help you deal with your Blu-rays? If so, you’ve come to the right place, because this tutorial will show you how to rip Blu-ray movies to hard drive of your Mac in detail. Suppose you are a Mac user and looking for such a tool, just feel free to go along with this guide at will.

Software you need:

Pavtube http://www.pavtube.com/blu-ray-ripper-mac/ (Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac)

Okay, now, let’s begin.

Step 1: Download, install and run Pavtube http://www.pavtube.com/blu-ray-ripper-mac/ (Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac)

Once you launch this program, a sky blue interface will pop up as below:

Step 2: Load Blu-ray files, select output format and set save path

There are two ways to import Blu-ray files, namely through “DVD Folder” and “IFO File”. At the same time, you are able to click on the drop-down list of “Format” to select output format, here I use the AVI format set by default as an example. If you’d like to join all the blu-ray files to be a single file, so that there are no intervals while playback, you can tick the checkbox of “Merge into one file” to realize it. Also, if you want to export the output files to your specified destination folder, you can hit “Browse” button to indicate a save path, otherwise, this program will load the output files to the folder set by default automatically.

By the way, if you do not want to change the video format and get any video loss, this tool allows you copying your Blu-ray files directly to your Mac hard drive without any change. You just need hit “Copy” and then “Directly Copy” as soon as you click on the drop-down button of “Format”.

Step 3: Convert

After all the above mentioned settings are done, you can press “Convert” button to start ripping. The following interface will show you the converting info in detail, including ripping progress, time elapse, estimated left time, generated and estimated file size, so that you can arrange your time and HD space properly.

Tip: For people who need adjust video and audio parameters.

If you want to control the output file size and quality in your own way, you can click “Settings” to adjust video and audio parameters like bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. in the interface below.

Generally speaking, the larger input figures, the better video quality accompanying with larger file size. On the contrary, the smaller input figures, the more inferior video quality accompanying with smaller file size.
