Post subject: How to rip DVDs by chapters

Nowadays, almost all people have DVD collections more or less. At the same time, they often have various needs to deal with these DVDs in these or those ways, for instance putting some DVD clips to their portable devices like iPhone, iPod, BlackBerry, PSP, etc. for playback; importing to video editors to do further editing; or just copying some they believed precious as backups, etc. Actually, nearly all the above things require the assistant of a correct DVD Ripper to achieve, therefore, my thread here will focus on these things, especially on how to rip the specified chapters of a DVD, because lots of people have not found out a proper method to reach this goal until now.

The DVD Ripper in this post I will use is called Pavtube http://www.pavtube.com/dvd_ripper/ (DVD Ripper), and now let’s go through with its step-by-step instruction together.

Step 1: Launch this program and import DVD files to it.

Download, install and launch Pavtube DVD Ripper, meanwhile, you can add DVD files to this program via three ways, namely pressing “DVD Rom”, “DVD Folder”, and “IFO File”.

Step 2: Select output format, set save path and specify which chapters to convert.

After the DVD files are imported, next, you can hit the drop-down list of “Format” to decide which format the generated files will be. Meanwhile, you are allowed to specify where to locate the output files via clicking on the folder icon at the end of “Output”; otherwise, this program will export the produced files to the destination folder set by default automatically. By the way, if you want to combine multiple chapters to be as one file, you can tick the checkbox “Merge into one file” to enable this function available.

Next, let’s focus on how to select the specified DVD chapters. As you can see in the above window, all the titles of DVD are checked by default while importing, and all the chapters are all hidden; now I will present you how to uncheck them all and show all the chapters so that you can easily choose the chapters you want to rip. Factually, you just need right-click on any title, and then an option interface will pop up as following. Now you can click “Uncheck All” or “Show Chapter” to make your selection easier.

Step 3: Convert

As soon as you have all the selections done, now you can press “Convert” button to start conversion work. After that, you can click “Open” button to find the ripped DVD chapters with ease.

More related Tips:

1. Pavtube DVD Ripper supports importing unprotected DVDs and protected DVDs.

2. The conversion speed of this software is 1.5-2 times faster than the similar DVD rippers.

3. It does not have audio and video out of sync issues.

4. With exception of adding text as watermark, images, GIF animations, and videos can also be added as watermarks to realize the picture-in-picture effect.

5. You can use the “Trim” function to select certain DVD clips to convert. And you can also take advantage of the “Crop” function to remove black edges or change the screen size.

6. Specific effect models are provided, such as “Simple gauss blur”, “Simple laplacian sharpen”, “Aged film”, “Flip color”, and “Invert”.
