Was the sale of Metrowerks x86 compiler technology related to the
fact that Apple chose to go with the Intel architecture?

By the way, who purchased it?

nokia owns and/or uses symbian (i forget which). to build binaries
for symbian, they compile PE exe's and run a tool on the resulting
binary to convert it to symbian form. I wondered too, and that's what
i read elsewhere, so it may not be entirely accurate (or at all)
