You can email images directly from iPhoto to anyone. They don't have to
have iPhoto to get them. They are sent in their original format, JPEG or
whatever. You can select the resolution of the image, from full
resolution to several lesser degrees of resolution. To do that, with
iPhoto in the Organize mode, select the images you want to send and
click the "EMail" button. You will get a dialogue asking what image size
you want, which you select, then click "Compose". You will get a mail
window with the selected images attached, which you can then address,
edit and send.
To burn images to CD so that other people who do not have iPhoto can use
them, you have to do that from the Finder, not from iPhoto.
The photos that are in iPhoto exist as plain JPEG (Or other kinds of
standard images, according to the original kind of image) in the iPhoto
library folders, which are just ordinary folders in the Finder's filing
system. So you can just find those folders and find the images you want
to share, and burn them to CD or flash drive, or some other way.
To find the iPhoto library, look in:
[your home folder]>>Pictures>>iPhoto Library
The iPhoto library has the images organized in subfolders. I have my
iPhoto set up to organize by date, which I think is the default setting.
So I have subfolders by year, then months within year, then days within
month. Within each day, there are subfolders for Data and originals, and
the image files. The Originals folder has the originals of any images
that you may have edited in iPhoto.
It may take a little hunting to find the images you want to share. You
have to know the date and identifying filename of the image.
Fortunately, iPhoto displays that info, which should help you find the
images you want.
Once you find the images, you can burn them to CD, etc.
Be aware that if you burn images to CD or flash drive directly from
iPhoto itself, they will be in iPhoto format. Other people who have
iPhoto will be able to use them, but people without iPhoto will not. To
make the images on the CD or flash drive available to people without
iPhoto, you have to burn them from the Finder.
