Every time I have several documents open on my dual monitor setup my first document remains at the proper zoom level for editing, but my other open documents AUTOMATICALLY RESIZE to very narrow windows (zoomed out) that I do not want. I prefer to have several full size doc windows open simultaneously and WORD seems to over ride this when I arrange a few open documents on my desktop.

This is driving me nuts!! Does anyone know how to set WORD 2008 up so that it leaves my documents as I set them on my desktop (i.e. not resized automatically?).

Thanks

Hi Rajish:

We are waiting for a bug fix for the peculiar dual-monitor behaviour.

After that arrives, the algorithm is that each document will re-open at the
size it was last saved.

Hope this helps

I am also having the same problem. This even happens when I have only one document open. I also am using dual monitors. Any idea of how soon a bug fix will be available. Rajish is right… IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!

Thank you.

Thanks!

Hello Shelley,

When John McGhie said "We are waiting for a bug fix for the peculiar
dual-monitor behaviour", "we" meant "the volunteers, who are not Microsoft
employees, who congregate here".

"We" don't know. Sorry.

And if someone from Microsoft made a prediction and did not meet the
prediction, the odd bit of gnashing of teeth foaming at the mouth would
eventuate.

So I don't expect you'll hear till it actually comes out.

In your situation, if it's a serious impediment I'd be re-installing Office
2004. It can co-exist with 2008 -- check some of the threads here on which
it has been discussed.

Hi Shelly:

It's a popular question :-)

We don't have an answer :-) There is a Service Release due in a few hours.
That may resolve the issue. We will just have to wait and see.

Cheers

Its one 1:56 Pm here and still no update as of yet. If it comes I'd be
surprised if the updater saw it until tomorrow.

Hi Phillip:

It's on the website now.

They will do a "Staged" roll-out on AutoUpdate to avoid bogging down the
server.

I would assume they will release "blocks" of IP addresses over the next week
or so.

Cheers

I have just downloaded and installed SP1, and the problem has not been rectified.

You're not running Spaces, are you? I understand that the fix for Spaces is
waiting on a fix from Apple as well.
